Mr. Charles Maddle is always up to something here at The Attic Outlet. He is one of those volunteers who is here day in and day out, working as hard as he can to do whatever the ministry might need done. Sometimes, he comes up with a wonderful idea that would enhance our ministry, and we just let him run with it! He is a rock star volunteer. Allow me to tell you what his newest project has been.
Located in our store's warehouse are two bathrooms for both men and women. For several years now, we have been using the women's bathroom for storage for our cleaning supplies since the bathroom itself wouldn't work properly. Mops, brooms, and other cleaning equipment were stored there. Mr. Maddle decided to build a storage room near the bathrooms that would store the cleaning supplies so the bathroom itself would be clear. Once he completed that project, he decided to enhance the women's bathroom and get it back in working order. Over the past few weeks, he has painted the walls, installed new flooring, put a sink in, and is now currently putting in a new toilet so that the women at The Attic can have a second bathroom to use.
In the women's bathroom, he has also installed a washer and dryer. This is huge because up until this point, our ministry has not had the luxury of having either of them before. Since our ministry recieves so many clothing donations, we will not be using the washer and dryer for clothing. Instead, we will be using them to wash and dry some of the items donated in our linen department. These items sometimes come in too dirty to put out on our store floor or to give to people in the community that cannot buy their own. Now with the help of the washer and dryer, we will be able to give and sell nice and clean linen's!
Mr. Maddle's hard work has not gone unnoticed. I wanted to write this blog post as a way of sharing the kindness of this man's heart in what he has done for us. If you think that what Mr. Maddle did for us is awesome, leave him a comment below!
